•Governor Umo Eno

…pledges collaboration with FG to tackle housing deficit

Akwa Ibom State governor, Pastor Umo Eno yesterday performed the groundbreaking of the construction of the Renewed Hope Housing Estate at Ekpene Ukim in Uruan Local Government Area.

Performing the ceremony, the governor said the event was a testament of inter-governmental collaboration between the State and the federal government and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu and the Federal Housing Authority for choosing Akwa Ibom for the flag-off.

He noted that the housing initiative aligns with his administration’s commitment to tackling the state’s housing deficit and assured the project managers of adequate support, including the creation of access roads and provision of adequate security to ensure smooth and speedy execution.

“We thank the Federal Housing Authority for their collaboration and for making Akwa Ibom the first state where the Renewed Hope Estate is being launched. I am deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving this project across the country,” he said.

Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Housing Authority, Hon. Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, expressed joy at the commencement of the Renewed Hope Estate in Akwa Ibom, noting that the state’s exceptional hospitality influenced the choice of Uyo as the project’s launch point.

On his part, the Chairman of Uruan Local Government Council, Surv. Iniobong Ekpenyong, lauded Governor Eno and President Tinubu for bringing the Renewed Hope project to the area, assuring that the local government would provide the needed security and support for the successful implementation of the project.

In a welcome remark, the Chairman, Commissioning Committee and Executive Director, Estate Services of the Authority, Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok commended the governor for his uncommon commitment to partnership and delivery on promises.

Goodwill messages were received from the Board Chairman, Ibom Mortgage Bank and the Managing Director of FMHA Mortgage Bank Ltd, who both applauded President Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno for their collaborative effort in expanding access to affordable housing in Nigeria.

They prayed for divine wisdom and blessings upon both leaders as they strive to improve the welfare of citizens through sustainable housing initiatives.
