The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Lagos State will receive enhanced security coverage following orders by the Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai.

Fatai directed the deployment of personnel as well as operational and intelligence assets to all approved examination centres to ensure a safe and orderly conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), reports The Nation.

The deployment, in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, is to protect candidates, officials, and other stakeholders throughout the exercise.

Officers assigned to the operation were instructed to maintain professionalism and vigilance, and to take firm action against examination malpractice, disorderly conduct, and any security breach. They are also to work with other security agencies to secure examination venues, adjoining areas, and access routes.

The commissioner urged candidates, parents, and the public to cooperate with security personnel and comply with examination guidelines, while reaffirming the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
