•PVCs

Following commencement of online pre-registration of the Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on August 18, 2025, the Commission has earlier announced the commencement of the physical onside registration today, Monday, August 25.

According to a notice posted on the Commission’s official X handle today, in-person registration commenced nationwide today, August 25, 2025, and will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays, in all INEC local government offices and other designated registration centres.

Below are some key things to take note of about the exercise:

Exercise open to New Voters

The Commission said the exercise is open to new voters who have attained the age of 18, those who have never registered before, as well as individuals seeking to replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs).

Avenue to transfer registration to new locations

INEC also stated that all voters wishing to transfer their registration to new locations, update their personal details, or correct errors on their PVCs can do so.

INEC added that online pre-registration had commenced earlier on August 18, 2025, through its portal.

Nigerians who had completed the online process are advised to proceed to their state or LGA offices to finalise their registration.

The commission urged eligible citizens not to miss the opportunity to register, stressing that voter registration is the first step in ensuring their voices are heard in the democratic process.
