•Nigerians looting warehouse

Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory today looted a warehouse reportedly belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency of Nigeria over the current economic hardship across the country.

It was learnt that the warehouse is situated in the Phase 3 Region of the FCT area of Abuja, reports Sunday PUNCH.

Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the spokesperson for the FCT police command, Josephine Adeh, verified the incident in a text message saying, “The situation is now under control.”

Recall that recently human rights groups, the Joint Action Front and the Coalition for Revolution hit the streets of Lagos State to protest against the soaring price of food and the high cost of living in the country.

In a similar vein, youths in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Monday, hit the street to protest the skyrocketing price of food and the state of the economy.
