National darkness: It’s a shame to Power Minister over 9th time grid collapse – CSO

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 7, 2024 2701 Minutes read0

As the entire nation is once again plunged into darkness due to a power grid collapse today, the nonprofit organisation One Love Foundation (OLF) has condemned the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, calling it a shame for overseeing the ninth national grid collapse in 2024, with the latest incident being the second within a week.

The Founder and President of OLF, Chief Patrick Eholor, expressed his disappointment with the performance of the Ministry of Power under the leadership of Minister Adebayo Adelabu.

Eholor said, “For the tenth time this year, and the second time in less than a week, Nigeria’s national grid has collapsed, leaving citizens in darkness and raising serious concerns about the competence of those in charge. With each collapse, businesses suffer, livelihoods are disrupted, and the nation’s progress is impeded.”

He added, “Minister of Power Adelabu, your silence is deafening! It is time for accountability and action. If you are unable to address these ongoing collapses and provide the leadership necessary to fix our power sector, then it may be time for you to step aside and let someone capable take over.”

Eholor concluded, “The Nigerian people deserve real progress in our power sector, not empty promises and repeated failures. It’s time for change, and the people demand better.”
