Obaseki’s alleged mole in LP, Olumide Akpata accused of sponsoring Oluchi against Abure over his stalled guber ambition

•Olumide Akpata

ERASMUS IKHIDE reporting

Olumide Akpata who is allegedly being planted by Governor Godwin Obaseki is reported to be behind the Labour Party national treasurer’s unfounded allegations of financial impropriety against Barrister Julius Abure.

Sources told our Correspondent in Abuja that the text of the press invitation to Mrs Oluchi Opara’s outing was circulated by Olumide and his agents across the country, ditto the press statement.

Hiding under wanton subterfuge and fading clouds, the invitation sent out for Monday morning, 11 am press conference which was eventually addressed by Mrs Oluchi Opara goes thus: “Edo LP candidate, Olumide Akpata to address a press conference in LP HQ, Abuja, 11 am Monday”.

Sources at Labour Party secretariat in Benin City, Edo State capital as well as the Federal Capital Territory have jointly knocked Olumide Akpata for for what they term his brazen and obstructive act of brigandage which signposted him an opportunist who is riding on Labour Party populism and Obidient Movement demagoguery to reap where he did not sow.

“We have been observing Olumide Akpata’s awful acts of desperation since he joined our party a few months ago after the presidential election.

“One would have thought that regardless of Olumide’s woeful failure as Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) chairman where lawyers were seen throwing chairs, stones and pebbles at themselves in the NBA conference for the first time in history, he should have been minimally conversant with the ruling of a political party like the Labour Party, instead of shaping up to be one of the most inept and least intellectually prepared to run under our party.

“Besides the fact that he is throwing Obaseki’s monies around to buy popularity in Edo State against the Labour Party’s article of faith, he has been unable to explain and convince us why he wanted to be governor of the state under our ticket.

“If you observe, you will notice Akpata’s lifeless regurgitation and tailor-made speeches he obviously didn’t understand.

“All that Olumide Akpata has offered since he joined the Labour Party is jitters, and we will be singing the party’s Nunc dimittis, if we offer him the ticket to fly our flag”, a top official of the party who pleaded anonymity said.
