Nigerian comedian Samuel Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has returned online and shared a lighthearted clip in a hospital yesterday, Saturday, August 8, 2026 after five months of being out of circulation.

The comedian has been away since March 13, 2026 after sustaining gunshot wound while filming in Sango-Ota, Ogun State, reports Sunday Guardian.

The comedian had been off social media since initial treatment and referral for further care.

His video’s playful recovery nod drew support, with fans celebrating his return and echoing his message of coming back stronger.

Although the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting remain unclear but it was alleged that Broda Shaggi was immediately rushed to a hospital in Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.

In March 2026, the comedian’s manager, Olufemi Oguntamu, popularly known as Femi Penzaar, neither confirmed nor denied the report when contacted by our correspondent, stating only that the comedian was “fine.”

Preliminary accounts gathered from sources familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the issue, suggested that the individuals involved were personnel affiliated with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

According to the sources, the situation allegedly escalated during the encounter, resulting in gunshots being fired.

They further claimed that the shots were discharged by members of the Civil Defence present at the scene.

While these accounts are based on information obtained through independent inquiries, the full circumstances surrounding the incident remained unclear.

When contacted in March, the spokesperson for the NSCDC Lagos Command, Abolurin Oluwaseun, said the agency had begun looking into the report.

“We read the report and we are investigating. I can’t confirm if our officers were there, but I will brief you after the investigation is concluded,” he said.

Reacting to the post, a fan, Sunsan Banjo, wrote: “You will be here with us all, living, blessed, graced. I am so happy to see you. Really happy. You have overcome by the

Blood of the Lamb. Come back even great.”

Omotoso Ibrahim, wrote: “Legend the whole Internet miss you. Fast recovery number 1 fine boy agbero melanin popping brown skin boy”

While Obele Okereke offered prayers for the comedian: “You are healed from every illness or situation that has kept you out of reach or in that clothing in Jesus name.”
