Today, March 6, 2025, marks the 78th birthday of Dr (Mrs) Maryam Sani Abacha, a woman whose life has been a shining testament to her strength, resilience, and dedication to the welfare of others.
As a former First Lady of Nigeria, Maryam Abacha’s legacy extends far beyond her tenure, illuminating the path for others with remarkable initiatives, reports Daily Independent.
Her dedication to family support has left an indelible mark, with programs still thriving 27 years after her time in office.
Some of her notable achievements include the establishment of the Ministry of Women Affairs in Nigeria, the National Hospital for Women and Children, and the African First Ladies Peace Mission. Her Family Support Healthcare Programme has also improved the lives of many, providing essential healthcare services and support to families in need said Comrade Haruna Sardauna, Chairman Northeast APC Youth Stakeholders Forum said while congratulating her.
According to him, Maryam Abacha’s commitment to empowering women and youth has earned her numerous awards and recognition, both locally and internationally. Her influence has paved the way for future generations of women leaders and change-makers in Nigeria.
He added that “As we celebrate this remarkable woman’s 78th birthday, we honor her tireless contributions to society, her unwavering passion for empowering others, and her unrelenting spirit that continues to inspire generations”.
