Top journalist and university lecturer, Dr. Michael Goke Jayesimi is dead.
The former Editor in-Chief of now rested Hearts Magazine died Tuesday night after a brief illness.
The Frontier reports that Jayesimi, who was a lecturer at the English Department at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, was said to have taken ill on Monday and before the end of the following day, he gave up the ghost.
Goke who was also a prominent writer and novelist with a huge dose of romance writing will be fondly remembered for his witty, intellectual, flowery and flowing writings with which he endeared himself to the hearts of many in the 1990s and 2000s.
It will be recalled that Goke Jayesimi also had a stint at former Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu’s HINTS Magazine, where he worked as a Senior Editorial Executive, alongside renowned writers cum journalists such as Kayode Ajala, Sunny Okim, Toni Kan, and others.
According to his daughter, Temitope, her doting father will be committed to Mother Earth on November 14 at Ijebu Ode after a Service of Songs on November 13.
The Frontier crew prays that God will grant the soul of Dr Goke Jayesimi, who was a close friend of the House, eternal rest.
