A 27-year-old man, Muktar Shehu, has been charged in Adamawa State over the alleged theft of 27 pieces of women’s underwear, which police said he confessed to stealing for ritual purposes.
The suspect, who resides in Zango Ward, Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, appeared before Magistrate Court 3, Yola, following his arrest by the Adamawa State Police Command, reports Daily Independent.
Police prosecutor Danjuma Hamidu alleged that Shehu committed offences including house trespass, theft, and possession of criminal charms.
The First Information Report (FIR) stated that Shehu allegedly entered Halima Yakubu’s residence on August 6, 2026, and took several items from the house.
After appearing before the court, Shehu was remanded in custody as the case awaits further proceedings.
