Tinubu urged to takeover Dangote Refinery, Cement

•Tinubu and Dangote Refinery

The founder and president of Chief Emeka Agba Foundation, Chief Emeka Agba, has called on President Bola Tinubu to takeover Dangote Cement and Dangote Refinery, saying the companies were financed by Nigeria’s funds.

Reacting to the disclosure made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo that he advised and supported Alh. Aliko Dangote to establish Dangote Cement, Agba said that what the former president did was wrong, adding that Obasanjo ought to have called other people in the cement industry at that time and give them the same support that had been given to Dangote.

Emeka Agba said that the action of the former president allowed Dangote to have a monopoly in the cement sector, adding that he used the monopoly to destroy other cement businesses in the country like Nkalagu Cement and others, reports Daily Independent.

Emeka Agba, who holds the title of Odagbulu Ihe Dagbulu Ihe Dagbulu Enyi 1 of Igboland, argued that the federal government should takeover Dangote Cement and rename it Nigeria Cement.

He also tasked the federal government to takeover Dangote Refinery, because according to him, the government assisted in terms of financing in the construction of the refinery.

According to him, since the federal government contributed to the financing of the projects, the Nigeria people deserved to enjoy the benefits.
