JUST IN: Despite FG denial, top European lawmaker raises alarm over Christian killings in Nigeria •Solicits US President Trump’s intervention

The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 20, 2025 3181 Minutes read0

•Tinubu, Tarczyński and Trump

A top European Parliament Member (MEP) Dominik Tarczyński, has once again called the attention of the world to alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria.

On his verified X account today, the Polish lawmaker posted a Nigerian flag stained with blood to symbolise the events in Nigeria.

He then attached a viral video of a pastor performing a burial ceremony, who said: “We are tired of performing burial every day, and they expect us to remain silent. It has become an order, and the Nigerian government came out to deny the massacre, and that there is no genocide of Christians in Nigeria. United Nations, you’re watching me.

“The American Parliament is aware of what we are doing now. My special request is to President Trump to save our lives in Nigeria. They are killing more Christians. If they say they kill Muslims, the Muslim are killed by who? Muslims are killed by Muslims.”

Expectedly, reactions trailed Dominik’s (MEP) post with many calling on the Nigerian government to checkmate banditry and terrorism in the country, reports The Guardian.

Recall that the federal government strongly refuted recent allegations by some international platforms and online commentators suggesting that terrorists operating in Nigeria are engaged in a systematic genocide against Christians.

In a statement issued by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the government described the claims as “false, baseless, despicable, and divisive,” insisting that they misrepresent the country’s complex security challenges.

According to the minister, portraying Nigeria’s fight against terrorism as a targeted campaign against a particular religious group oversimplifies the situation and risks fueling division along ethnic and religious lines.
