The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robbery syndicate which has been terrorising Ikot Abasi village and its environs.
The Command in its intensified effort on July 1, 2024 at about 02:00hrs arrested three members of the notorious syindicate namely, John Okon Anta ‘M’ Michael Osudua ‘M’ and Inyene Joseph Edet ‘M’ who allegedly attacked and robbed one man (name withheld) on gun point and carted away his QLINK Motorcycle, phones, power bank charger.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to The Frontier by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police Timfon John.
According to the police spokesman, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had earlier robbed two houses at Afaha Ikot Abasi Village and carted away cell phones and other valuable items.
The suspects have confessed to the commission of the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
One locally-made pistol was recovered from them.

The Commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Waheed Ayilara has reiterated the command’s unwavering commitment to rid the state of criminal elements and make Akwa Ibom safe for all.
