PSQUARE: Paul Okoye blames Peter for Jude’s detention, seeks elder brother’s release

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly called RudeBoy of Psquare, has stated that his twin brother, Peter, is the one behind the legal troubles of their elder brother, Jude.

At the court sitting today for Jude’s bail application, Paul promised to secure Jude’s release, insisting that he is standing for the truth, reports The PUNCH.

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission arraigned Jude, the former manager of the defunct music group, P-Square, on charges of laundering ₦1.38billion, $ 1 million, and £34,537.59.

Jude was arraigned alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court, Lagos, on Wednesday on a seven-count charge. He pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.

At the court hearing on Wednesday, the prosecution, led by Larry Peters Aso, requested that Jude be remanded in a correctional facility pending trial.

The defendant’s lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, filed a bail application, requesting that Jude be placed under the custody of the EFCC until the hearing.

A federal high court in Ikoyi, Lagos heard Jude Okoye‘s bail application over money laundering allegations.

At the court, Paul stated that he would not abandon his elder brother as he stands on the side of truth saying, “I’m supporting him because I know the truth.

“The truth is, Peter is the one putting Jude through these things. It’s Peter who is doing these. He is putting him in prison and I’m here to bring him out.

“I’m only standing for the truth because the same crime that they accused him of doing, then Peter is guilty, Paul is also guilty too.”
