BREAKING: Akwa Ibom Police boss presents N88.6 million to families of deceased officers

The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo today, Monday, October 21, 2024 presented cheques worth Eighty eight million, six hundred and sixteen thousand, six hundred and ninety three naira, four kobo only, to 54 families of deceased police officers in the state.

CP Eribo, was assisted by members of his Management Team.

This was disclosed in a statement issued this afternoon and made available to The Frontier.

According to the statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Timfon John, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), while presenting the cheques to the deceased family members, CP Eribo informed that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has made the welfare of Police officers and their families a topmost priority.

The state police boss further called on beneficiaries who are next of kin to the deceased officers to ensure that they make optimal use of the funds provided to them so that it will help them stand on their feet and also cater for their respective families.

“The force in her entirety condoles with the family of the fallen heroes.The cheques issued to the next of kin by the CP on behalf of the IGP are a part of the IGP’s family Welfare Scheme, Group Life Assurance and Group personal Accident Insurance Scheme,” said the police spokesperson.

“In their response, the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Police Force. They all promised to make good use of the funds and prayed God to bless the IGP, the CP and the Nigerian Police Force,” John added.
