The court consent president of the Lagos State chapter of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Solomon Ogbonna, has dismissed the emergence of Chief Linus Igbudu as the acting president of the organisation.
In an interview with our correspondent in Lagos, he asserted that he is the recognised and legitimate president of the organisation, adding anyone who lays claims to the leadership of the organisation is doing so at his own risk.
He stated that the emergence of Chief Igbudu as acting president of the organisation is “null and void and of no effect”, reports Daily Independent.
Chief Ogbonna said that a majority of the members of the members of the organisation are with him, adding that his group will roll out plans to move the organisation forward.
He stated that he is collaborating with Chief Sunday Ossai to end the crisis that has bedeviled the organization in recent years, adding that he is committed to making sure that peace and unity reign in the organisation.
Ogbonna described peace as a condition necessary for growth and development, and calling on members to sheathe their sword and embrace peace.
He disclosed that he and other stakeholders are in the process of setting up an electoral committee to conduct elections to elect executives to run the affairs of the organisation.
Ogbonna disclosed that he will hold a meeting with the Council of Ndieze in Lagos State on the way forward for Lagos State Ohanaeze.
