Popular rapper Falz calls out Nigerian government over rising insecurity

Renowned rapper and activist Falz has publicly criticized the Nigerian government over its handling of insecurity, following the recent violent attacks in parts of Kwara State.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Falz expressed deep frustration at what he described as the government’s silence, slow response, and misplaced priorities, especially in the wake of reports that several lives were lost during the attack.

Falz questioned why conversations around 2027 election campaigns seem to be gaining momentum while communities are still mourning victims of violent attacks.

According to him, Nigerians deserve answers, arrests, and justice, not political posturing.

He stressed that repeated statements of condemnation without visible action only widen the trust gap between citizens and leadership.

Beyond government officials, Falz also called out some religious leaders, accusing them of allowing political interests to overshadow their responsibility to speak up for suffering citizens. He noted that moments of national pain should inspire unity and advocacy, not silence or political alignment.

The post has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians praising Falz for speaking boldly on behalf of ordinary citizens, while others debated the role of celebrities in political discourse.

Falz’s message adds to the growing public demand for accountability, security, and meaningful action, as Nigerians continue to call on leaders to prioritise lives over politics.
